Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Maryland. I have over 30 years experience counseling families and individuals and training graduate students to become counselors. In that time I’ve helped people with anxiety, depression, abandonment, physical and sexual abuse, grief and loss, family conflict and trauma recovery among other issues. Since I know that the decision to seek professional help for very personal concerns can feel risky, I like to take my time getting to know you before I make any suggestions or draw any conclusions about your life. My style is friendly and informal. I tend to focus on your strengths and abilities when we talk. You’ll find that I’m much more interested in your successes than your failures.
My therapeutic orientations are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Positive Psychology. Although we can’t imagine it when we’re in distress, we are actually in charge of our thoughts, feelings and behavior. Since thoughts produce emotions and emotions drive behavior we’ll be spending time recognizing how that works for you. Remember, you are in charge of how you function. My professional and life experience has taught me that the generous application of humor, whenever possible, is good medicine. No bad side effects and it’s totally free.
