Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Douglas and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. In addition to being an LPC I am certified to supervise (LPC-S) Licensed Professional Counselor Interns. I am also a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology and I have over 24 years experience working with individuals, couples and groups.
I believe in the power of the individual ~ in the individual’s creativity, courage, choice, free will, and desire to become better. I believe people make choices about themselves, others and the world, and set goals for their lives based on their perceptions of reality. Sometimes these perceptions are distorted and discouraging. Counseling aids individuals in discovering and recognizing their distorted views, in developing more effective ways to reach their goals, and in decreasing their discouragement.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution based and emotional interviewing therapies. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
The therapy process is a cooperative effort between the individual and the counselor where each assumes an active and responsible role in that process. I will contribute my knowledge and expertise to assist you in gaining insight and making educated choices, I will provide you with experiences in which to test those choices, and I will support you with encouragement, patience, and optimism. You will contribute your personal knowledge, your commitment to explore yourself and your beliefs honestly.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! I look forward to talking with you and assisting you in achieving your goals.

Douglas approaches therapy with a respectful, warm, and interactive style that avoids stigmatizing labels. Douglas describes therapy as a cooperative process: he contributes clinical knowledge, opportunities to test choices, and steady encouragement, while clients bring their personal insight and a commitment to honest exploration. Together they aim to reduce discouragement and move toward meaningful change.
Douglas invites prospective clients to reach out to begin a collaborative process focused on gaining insight and making informed choices that support their goals.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and clinical experience indicate that virtual sessions offer meaningful support for these types of issues.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose how they connect with a therapist – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to find an option that fits their schedule and comfort level. This flexibility can help people maintain consistency in their work toward goals.
Licensed professionals conduct online therapy, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. The convenience and range of communication methods often make professional help more accessible while preserving the therapeutic process.
