Delishia Williams helps people reclaim a sense of ease and authenticity amid life’s complications and losses. With 15 years of clinical experience, she draws on a belief in the strengths that live within each person and offers a supportive, non-judgmental presence as clients work to reconnect with who they are inside.
She earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she focused on gerontology and the transitions that come with aging. Her clinical background includes nearly seven years working for a hospice provider, supporting patients, families, and health and human service staff through some of the most intense life transitions. That experience shaped a therapeutic approach grounded in finding meaning, cultivating inner strengths, and practicing mindfulness - an emphasis on being present in the moment.
Licensed to practice as an independent clinical social worker in Iowa (IA LISW 073082), Delishia works with individuals from many different backgrounds on concerns such as stress, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, compassion fatigue, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, sleep and parenting difficulties, anger management, career challenges, bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, and LGBT-related issues. She believes therapy can help at any point in life and is available to listen, support, and collaborate on practical steps toward feeling better, no matter how small or large the concern feels.
