Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hi, I’m Deedra Ivie. My goal is to help you find the strength that is already inside of you and bring that to light. Each client is different and has needs unique to their upbringing and life circumstances. I enjoy learning about your past circumstances, ways of thinking and current situation to find the best way to move forward to achieve progress and find peace.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with most clients suffering from depression and anxiety. I work with you to identify the exact feelings you are experiencing. Then we work on identifying the thought behind the feeling. After we find the exact issue prompting your emotions, we work to change the thoughts. We discuss coping skills to help you find relief in the midst of your intense emotions.
If you are experiencing more extreme emotions I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy. For DBT, I walk you through the different stages of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Distress tolerance and mindfulness are both a good place to start to help you find some relief from your symptoms. Then you can move forward to work on recognizing and regulating your emotions. Interpersonal effectiveness can also be very helpful. This helps you learn how to relate to others in your life in a healthier way.
I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Masters in Counseling. I have worked in Community Mental Health Centers, Treatment Facilities and I have a private practice. I am married with 4 children, whom I homeschool. Most of my time is spent with my family outdoors. We also have pigs, goats, dogs, chickens, bees and I garden.
I look forward to finding out more about you and how I can help.

Deedra Ivie helps clients recognize and strengthen the resilience they already possess, guiding each person toward progress and greater peace. She approaches therapy with attention to each client’s unique upbringing and life circumstances, exploring past experiences, current thinking patterns, and present challenges to determine the most effective path forward.
Deedra most often uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support people coping with depression and anxiety. She works collaboratively to identify the specific emotions a person is feeling, trace those feelings back to the underlying thoughts, and then reshape the thoughts while teaching practical coping skills for relief during intense emotional moments.
For clients facing more intense or fluctuating emotions, Deedra draws on Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She guides clients through DBT’s core skills areas – mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness – often beginning with distress tolerance and mindfulness to establish immediate symptom relief, then progressing to emotion regulation and improving how clients relate to others.
Deedra earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University and has ten years of clinical experience working in community mental health centers, treatment facilities, and in private practice. She maintains licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado (LPC number 0005775) and in Missouri (LPC number 2022006994) and is based in Missouri.
Outside of her work she is married and raises four children whom she homeschools. Much of her free time is spent outdoors with her family and on the family’s small homestead, which includes pigs, goats, dogs, chickens, bees, and a garden. She looks forward to learning more about each person she meets and discovering how she can help.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adapting to life changes, research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person treatment.
Online therapy also offers practical advantages around flexibility. Individuals can choose the format that fits their needs and comfort level – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
These services are delivered by licensed professionals, and if someone feels a different fit would be better, it is possible to switch therapists. For many people facing everyday mental health challenges, online therapy provides an accessible and effective option to get support and tools for coping and growth.
