Dawn Byrne

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland with over 25 years of experience in treating relational, mental health and addiction issues. I hold two masters degrees- in Counseling and Education. I have worked in a variety of settings: private practice; corporate employee assistance programs (EAP); community psychiatry programs; and addiction recovery clinics. I have also served as a “Crisis Interventionist” in an ER setting, so I am comfortable sorting out complex problems in a rapid manner.
Prior to serving as a corporate and community counselor, I was a corporate trainer, specializing in Coping Skills. So I provide psycho-educational skills to enhance individual therapy and everyday situations.
My style is client-centered and solution-focused. I will provide you with a safe space to help you explore, discuss and resolve whatever issues you bring in. The goal is to help you decide what changes you want to make to increase satisfaction with your life. My focus is on providing you with practical skills that help you with everyday issues: relational conflict at home and work; self-management; emotional and coping with anxiety.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.

Each therapist offering online care is a licensed professional, and clients may switch therapists if they would prefer a different fit. For many people, the combination of evidence-based outcomes and practical access makes online therapy a useful option to consider.
