Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker living in Madison, Wisconsin. I have worked as a counselor in various capacities over the last 30 years. In the first half of my career I worked with adolescents young men dealing with issues that resulted in struggles with the juvenile justice system and placement outside their homes. After about 10 years working with adolescents I took a break to pursue follow my passion for landscaping and working outdoors. During that time I also had to come to terms with the realization that I was also an alcoholic/addict. Fortunately I was able to enter recovery and learn from others and a very seasoned counselor what a life in recovery requires and provides. At that time I shifted into a second phase in my career that focused on working with those struggling with use/addiction issues and all the factors that lead to them.
I am currently working in a program that provides services to those that not only need, but want help. In this work, as well as my earlier work in my career I have worked with clients with a wide, wide range of issues that reflect just how hard it can sometimes be to live this human life. As such, I have come to a place where I have realized how valuable and necessary it is to have a space to be able to talk about and process our efforts toward becoming happier, more peaceful and accepting in our lives. I believe that we are all capable of living lives that have meaning for us and to come to a place of self-acceptance and compassion. I focus on getting to know clients and their goals and experience and finding ways to use the skills, strength and insight to work toward the lives they want. I truly believe that self-acceptance is a key to creating the life that we want/deserve. That being said, I know from my own experience in recovery that self-acceptance and compassion are necessary, but difficult goals to achieve. However, they are necessary precursors to making progress toward our best lives. The harder they are to imagine the more we need them.

David Krych is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Wisconsin with 19 years of clinical experience. His career began working with adolescent young men who faced challenges that led to involvement with the juvenile justice system and placement outside their homes, giving him early exposure to complex family and behavioral situations.
After about a decade in that field, he stepped away to pursue a longstanding interest in landscaping and outdoor work. During that period he also confronted his own struggles with alcohol and substance use, entered recovery, and learned about the demands and rewards of sustained recovery from peers and a seasoned counselor. That personal experience led him to refocus his clinical work on helping people who struggle with use and addiction and on the many factors that contribute to those struggles.
He now works in a program that serves people who both need and want help, and across his career has supported clients facing a wide range of issues that reflect how difficult daily life can be at times. He values creating a space where people can talk through and process their efforts to become happier, more peaceful, and more accepting of themselves.
David believes that everyone can pursue a life with meaning and move toward self-acceptance and compassion. He centers his work on getting to know each person’s goals and experiences, and on using existing strengths, skills, and insights to help them progress toward the life they want. As a licensed clinical social worker in Wisconsin, he brings a practical, recovery-informed perspective to therapy and coaching.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist remotely can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the transitions that come with life changes, research and clinical practice indicate that online therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major advantage of remote therapy is flexibility. Individuals can choose the format that fits their routines and comfort level – video sessions, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging – which often makes it easier to keep therapy consistent and accessible.
These services are delivered by licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different match they may switch to another therapist at any time. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, evidence-aligned option for addressing everyday mental health needs and life challenges.
