Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Bio: Dan Ludwig LCSW ACSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a certified teacher in St. Louis, MO with over 35 years of experience. The bulk of my employment has involved combining counseling/therapy and education with primarily disadvantaged youth and young adults. The classroom is an ideal setting to explore obstacles to growth and problem solve new choices and paths.
In my practice, my main approach involves Reality Therapy/Control Theory (Dr. Bill Glasser), which is closely related to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I found this form of therapy to be very successful and easy to understand. I believe people can change their behavior when they change their thoughts.
I am a life long endurance runner/triathlete (two – Hawaiian Ironman finishes) and an avid outdoorsman. I know what the power of exercise, experiential education games, outdoor activities, and fresh air can have in on a person and his/her outlook on life. I believe in setting goals for yourself, no matter how small, and going for it!
I am impressed that you are taking time to select a therapist as it demonstrates that you are beginning your journey to self-improvement.

Danny Ludwig is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Missouri with 30 years of experience. He holds a Missouri clinical social work license (MO LCSW 001585) and combines clinical practice with a background in education to support clients across different environments.
Much of his work has focused on blending counseling and classroom-based approaches to help primarily disadvantaged youth and young adults. He views classroom settings as practical places to identify obstacles to growth and to explore new choices and paths.
His primary therapeutic method is Reality Therapy and Control Theory, as developed by Dr. William Glasser, an approach closely related to cognitive behavioral therapy. He finds this model straightforward and effective and works from the perspective that changing thoughts can produce changes in behavior.
Outside of his clinical work, he is a lifelong endurance runner and triathlete and an avid outdoorsman, and he values the influence that exercise, experiential education activities, outdoor pursuits, and fresh air can have on a person’s outlook. He encourages setting goals – even small ones – and taking concrete steps to pursue them.
He appreciates that taking time to select a therapist is a meaningful beginning on the path to self-improvement and offers practical, goal-oriented support for parenting issues, anger management, self-esteem, depression, coping with life changes, stress, anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, career difficulties, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage of remote care is flexibility – individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that feels most comfortable, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
These services are delivered by licensed professionals and therapists, and if someone wishes to try a different clinician for a better fit they may switch therapists at any time. Online therapy offers a practical, accessible way to address many common mental health and life concerns while preserving continuity of care.
