Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Louisiana. I have 17 years of experience in the counseling field. I have worked with children and adults with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, family issues, trauma, and suicide ideation. I also have an in depth understanding of addiction counseling, crisis counseling, and bereavement counseling.
I approach counseling as a combined effort between the client and the counselor. My goal is to build a relationship founded on trust. Together we will explore the presenting problems and the patterns that occur, and establish goals that will help improve functioning in your day-to-day life.
My experience spans across multiple client populations and settings including telephone counseling in a crisis center, family counseling in a community center, addictions counseling in a treatment center, and individual and group counseling in a school setting. I have worked with people of various ages, races, and backgrounds. I believe that we are influenced by the people and circumstances around us, but that with the right tools and support, we can overcome any obstacle. My goal as a counselor is to make you feel safe, supported, and empowered.
I approach counseling from a cognitive behavioral perspective, drawing from solution focused therapy and client centered therapy. I believe that the client is the main focus of therapy. I want to understand the issues, collaborate to create goals, develop a plan of action, and work together to achieve those goals.
It takes a lot of strength to reach out for help; and I’d like to help you discover the happier, healthier you.
