Dr. Corlissa Wilson, who also welcomes being called Dr. C, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia (GA LPC LPC002236). She holds national certifications both as a counselor and as a school counselor and is a Certified Trauma Specialist. Over the course of her career she has provided therapy for 25 years and served as a school counselor for 28 years in elementary and middle school settings.
She has worked in private practice and spent a decade teaching courses for the University of Phoenix. Dr. Wilson uses an eclectic therapeutic approach and emphasizes collaborative work with clients - helping them identify concerns, set achievable goals, and often assigning activities to complete between sessions. She enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and children, and volunteers by facilitating grief groups for adolescents and their parents.
Her academic training includes an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, and a BBA in Marketing, an M.Ed. in Community Counseling, and an Ed.S. in School Counseling from the University of West Georgia. She and her husband, her high school best friend, raise a blended family - his son was two when they married, and they have a daughter together. Dr. Wilson approaches each person and situation as unique and offers support to those ready to take the first step toward change.
