Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Thanks for checking out my profile, finding the ‘right fit’ of a therapist is important so this is a little about me. I reside in North Carolina and am licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Minnesota. I have 22 years of clinical experience, yet I continue to learn and grow in my profession so that I can show up fully for those I get to serve.
I have experience in helping clients successfully manage stress, anxiety, coping with life transitions and burnout. I am both a therapist and a registered nurse and can offer support to those facing illness or end of life, caregiving stress and burnout.
My therapeutic approach includes brief solution focused interventions (figuring out solutions and focusing on the future instead of the past), cognitive behavioral interventions (identifying patterns in our mindset that impact our life), motivational interviewing (helping you identify what you really want to work on) and incorporating mindfulness and meditation.
I view my role as being a guide and resource to help you tap into your own strengths to overcome challenges. I believe in helping people learn and practice skills that will help now and that can be used in the future on your own. Together we’ll decide on what you want to work on and create goals and evaluate progress as we go. If something isn’t working we can try a different approach. If you just don’t feel like we ‘click’ that is OK, I’ll help you get connected with another therapist here. You’ve taken a big first step in deciding to invest in yourself and what is most important is that you get the support that you need.

Christine Lau is a licensed clinical social worker and registered nurse based in North Carolina, credentialed as NC LCSW C005209 and MN LICSW 33903 (licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina and Minnesota). She brings 22 years of clinical experience to her work and continues to expand her knowledge to better serve those she supports.
Her clinical focus includes helping people manage stress and anxiety, navigate life transitions, and recover from burnout. With nursing experience as well as clinical social work training, she also offers support to individuals and families facing illness, end-of-life concerns, and the stresses of caregiving.
Christine integrates brief solution-focused techniques that aim at practical problem solving and future-oriented change, cognitive behavioral strategies to identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and motivational interviewing to clarify priorities and build commitment to goals. She also incorporates mindfulness and meditation practices into care when appropriate.
She sees her role as a guide and resource, helping clients access their own strengths and learn skills that work now and remain useful later. Together with each client she sets goals, tracks progress, and adjusts the approach if something is not effective. If the therapeutic fit does not feel right, she will assist in finding another clinician who may be a better match. Seeking therapy is a meaningful step, and Christine focuses on helping people get the support they need.
