Christine Gooddy

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hi! I’ve been working with groups of adult survivors of historic abuse for 13 years now, along with one to one work, with a wide variety of clients. I trained in Person Centred counselling and whilst clients are always at the centre of my approach, I now tailor that approach in a more integrative ways to suit each client I work with.

I know first hand what it feels like to suffer from depression, and how challenging it can be to find the pathway to recovery.

Much of my work has been with trauma and the emotional difficulties that result, many of my trainings have been to gain a greater understanding of the mind/body which drives us to respond in certain ways.

The connection between client and therapist must be felt by both in order for therapy to be beneficial. I’m a calm and compassionate therapist who has walked the walk of the strategies I offer. I’ve tamed my inner critic and found healthy ways to cope with life’s challenges. Working with survivors for so many years has taught me that different things work for different people.

If you would like to work with me, please get in touch.

About

Christine Gooddy has spent 13 years working with groups of adult survivors of historic abuse as well as providing one-to-one therapy for a wide variety of clients. She trained in Person Centred counselling and, while clients remain at the heart of her work, she now adapts that foundation into a more integrative approach tailored to each person she supports.

She speaks from personal experience about living with depression and understands how challenging it can be to find a pathway to recovery.

Much of her practice has focused on trauma and the emotional difficulties that follow. Christine has undertaken many trainings to build a deeper understanding of how mind and body interact and drive the ways people respond to events.

She believes the therapeutic relationship must be felt by both client and therapist for work to be helpful. Calm and compassionate, she has applied the strategies she offers in her own life, learning to tame an inner critic and develop healthier coping methods.

Years of working with survivors have taught her that different approaches suit different people. If you would like to work with her, please get in touch.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – you can connect in the way that suits you best, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life. Therapists offering online support are licensed professionals, and if you feel the match is not right you can switch to a different therapist at any time to find a better fit.
