Cheryl Pacione guides people toward renewed confidence and clearer direction, helping them move into a more empowered, growth-oriented way of living.
As a solution-focused therapist, she supports clients in identifying strengths and practical steps for change. While she acknowledges that the past cannot be rewritten, she collaborates with clients to better understand current challenges and to resolve patterns that limit fulfilment. By integrating complementary therapeutic approaches and targeted techniques, Cheryl helps uncover long-standing behaviors or negative perceptions that may be blocking a more meaningful life.
Cheryl is a New York-licensed mental health counselor, with 25 years of clinical experience. She has worked with diverse populations including LGBTQIA+ clients and those in non-monogamous relationships, and she served for several years on a New York State committee focused on inclusion and diversity. Her clinical background includes work with anger management, anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, career difficulties, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, grief, intimacy-related concerns, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, sexual identity, compassion fatigue, ADHD, and supporting transition-age youth on the autism spectrum.
In addition to psychotherapy, Cheryl is trained as a vocational counselor and is familiar with the Americans with Disabilities Act, placing her in a strong position to assist clients with job-related challenges and those who are navigating disability-related concerns.
She practices full time from New York in the Eastern Standard Time zone. Her availability is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM EST and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST. Many clients use a blend of message-based communication that does not occur in real time along with regular weekly live sessions by video or phone. Cheryl aims to respond to messages within 24 hours of receipt.
If someone is seeking extra support through a difficult period or is ready to move in a new direction, Cheryl welcomes the opportunity to work toward those goals with them. “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.”
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life transitions - online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is the flexibility it offers. Clients can choose the format that suits them best - video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to incorporate therapy into busy schedules and everyday life.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and individuals may change therapists at any time if they want a different match. This approach allows people to pursue consistent therapeutic work without sacrificing convenience or continuity of care.
