Cheryl Coney has worked in the helping professions since 2007 and brings 15 years of clinical experience supporting adolescents and adults across residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. She has treated a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, parenting challenges, career difficulties, addictions, OCD, ADHD, and recovery from physical trauma or emotional abuse, and she also addresses issues such as grief, anger management, self-esteem, LGBT-related concerns, compassion fatigue, and coping with life changes.
She is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Virginia and centers her work on collaboration and respect. Her approach is warm and interactive, integrating cognitive-behavioral, dialectical, and humanistic methods while tailoring dialogue and treatment plans to each person’s specific needs. Cheryl values client input throughout the treatment process and meets people where they are so goals reflect their own definition of success.
Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 2011 from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology in 2016 from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. She combines professionalism, enthusiasm, and unconditional positive regard to help clients build confidence, examine perspectives, and change behaviors that interfere with a healthy life. Her aim is to be part of the solution as clients work toward meaningful and sustainable improvements in quality of life.
