Chelsea McCormick

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alabama working with clients experiencing challenges such as PTSD and grief. In addition, my previous work as a Rape Victim Advocate, OB/GYN social worker, and vulnerable families has given me a strength in working with and navigating women’s issues. Sometimes, managing emotions and life responsibilities in healthy ways while navigating life challenges and transitions can feel impossible. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore problems affecting their lives and work with them to build skills to improve their life functioning and satisfaction.
I have worked with children, teens, parents and adults in emergency, residential, school, and clinic settings. I take a client-centered approach and draw from a diverse set of treatment modalities by utilizing techniques from CBT, Solution-Focused therapy, motivational-interviewing, mindfulness, EMDR, TF-CBT, and DBT.
It is normal to feel anxious about reaching out to a therapist for the first time. Perhaps you’re a little intimidated by the idea of therapy or maybe you have negative experiences from when you tried to reach out for support in the past. However, if you choose to explore me as your therapist, I promise to provide a safe space for you.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the communication method that fits their routine and comfort level, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from different locations.

All participating professionals are licensed, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they seek a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical and effective way to access professional support while balancing the demands of daily life.
