Charles Allen is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Georgia with 25 years of clinical experience. He made a significant career transition after four decades in church music ministry, resigning from full-time ministry to return to college and earn a master’s degree in Psychology.
After graduating from Argosy University in 1995, Mr. Allen spent 15 years working in Public Mental Health. In 2010 he left that setting and opened a solo private practice, where he continues to see clients today.
His primary focus is working with couples who plan to marry and with couples seeking to restore their marriage to a healthier place. He is trained as a Level 3 Gottman Therapist. He also affirms traditional marriage and draws on personal experience, having been married to his wife since 1965. He holds the view that many relationship problems can be addressed if both partners are willing to give “one more try.”
In addition to couples work, Mr. Allen serves as a Court Approved Counselor for individuals ordered to attend anger management counseling, and he also works with people who pursue anger management voluntarily. He looks forward to speaking with prospective clients about their specific needs.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can produce real benefits. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit of remote counseling is flexibility. Individuals can connect with licensed professionals in the format that works best for them - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to fit care into a busy schedule.
Licensed therapists deliver care through these various channels, and clients have the option to change therapists if they need a different fit. For many people facing everyday mental health and relationship challenges, online therapy offers an accessible and effective path to support.
