Carri McClellan is a thoughtful, patient-focused counselor who centers best practices in every therapeutic interaction. With 14 years of experience working with both groups and individuals, she has supported people presenting with trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns.
She holds a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The University of Tennessee. Carri draws on evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches, and she offers mindfulness techniques as an optional supplement for those who are interested.
Licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Oregon and as a mental health counselor in Washington, Carri combines clinical training with a human-centered, unconditionally positive stance. She is an easy listener who takes time to learn each person’s goals and to explore how she can help them move toward those aims.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy performs comparably to traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience indicate it can be an effective option for addressing these types of issues.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. People can choose the format that works best for them - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it simpler to fit therapy into a busy routine or to connect from different locations.
Each therapist working online is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to switch to a different therapist if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. That adaptability, combined with accessible scheduling and multiple communication methods, makes online therapy a practical choice for many seeking support.
