Dr. Carolyn Greenleaf is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Texas who began working as a psychotherapist and crisis interventionist in the Dallas metro area in 1979. She has built a clinical career spanning forty years addressing a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, marital and family problems, trauma and stress-related disorders, post-traumatic adjustment issues, and bereavement.
Her counseling style is direct and interactive, drawing primarily from person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She applies person-centered methods to establish and maintain a strong therapeutic relationship, while using cognitive-behavioral techniques to identify and address destructive, self-defeating thoughts and coping patterns. She also values humor as a helpful tool in easing difficult topics, describing it as a “spoonful of sugar” that makes challenging work more approachable.
Dr. Greenleaf holds a Texas license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (TX LCSW 11120) and brings four decades of clinical experience to her practice. Clients have said she is a kind person, which reflects her genuine care and desire to help when she can.
