Candyce Linington is a registered clinical Counsellor in Australia with over 5 years of experience and holds professional membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
Her approach has been shaped by navigating personal challenges such as addictive and self-harming behaviours, psychosocial difficulties, a cancer diagnosis, a work-related injury, grief and loss, and transitions like moving abroad and changing careers, alongside witnessing broader societal inequalities and unrest.
She holds a Master of Counselling (a postgraduate degree), a Graduate Certificate of Addictive Behaviours, a Bachelor of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and an Advanced Diploma of Transpersonal Counselling, bringing both formal training and lived understanding to her work.
Candyce supports people with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, illness or other physical conditions, motivation and stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-discovery and identity matters, and addiction-related issues.
She practises with integrity, inclusivity and respect for confidentiality, using person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches. Sessions are collaborative, proceed at the client’s pace, and are shaped by the client’s values and goals.
Drawing on evidence-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Relapse Prevention when appropriate, Candyce also holds the view that each person is the expert of their own story and that clients have strengths that support change.
She recognises that seeking support requires courage and is committed to supporting and empowering clients as they work towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Candyce is available to help and looks forward to meeting and supporting new clients.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy can be an effective alternative to in-person sessions and has been shown to be comparable in outcome for many people.
A key advantage is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of connection that best fits their needs, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.
All therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and if a client feels a different fit would work better they are able to switch therapists at any time.
