Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I start with the assumption that every human being has a purpose and the ability to be a productive member of society. I believe that we all have an optimal self and that it is helpful to have someone act as a mirror and a support to keep moving toward that optimal self. I primarily utilize the practice of neuropsychotherapy, although this approach leaves room for most other theories under its umbrella. My approach often employs the theory and techniques of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Adlerian, and Existential therapies. I believe in a healthy mind, body, and soul, and in that vein, I provide counseling in spiritual matters tailored to each client’s personal beliefs. I am proud of my formal education, and I obviously could not do this work without it. However, the key to my ability to help others has always been the education I’ve garnered through my own life experiences. I draw on both of these influences as appropriate.

Brooks Johnson begins from the belief that every person has a purpose and the capacity to be a productive member of society. He holds that each individual has an optimal self, and that having a supportive mirror can help sustain progress toward that version of oneself.
His primary modality is neuropsychotherapy, an approach that allows room for a range of complementary theories. In practice he frequently draws on Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Adlerian, and Existential techniques to tailor interventions to the needs of each person.
Believing in the importance of mind, body, and soul, he offers counseling on spiritual matters when it aligns with a client’s personal beliefs. He blends clinical training with lessons learned through life experience, using both sources to inform his work as appropriate.
Brooks Johnson is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida (license MH9403) with 27 years of experience. He works with concerns such as stress, anxiety, relationship issues, self esteem, bipolar disorder, depression, addictions, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, anger management, career difficulties, coping with life changes, and ADHD.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain consistent care when schedules or circumstances make in-person visits difficult.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they decide a different fit would be better. Online therapy offers a practical way to access skilled therapeutic support for a wide range of everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
