Brenda Drake

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Mississippi with 17 years of experience working as a clinical therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, anger issues, DMDD, Conduct Disorder, LGBTQI and ADHD. I also have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or physical or emotional abuse. I have experience in teaching at the college level and helping those with family and marital issues. I taught Couple Counseling which explored the dynamics of marital and couple relationships from a clinical research perspective and I also taught Marriage and Family Therapy classes with a focus on a systems perspective, including history, core concepts, and seminal figures.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client-centered and solution-focused counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and managing life transitions, online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. One major benefit is flexibility – people can connect with a therapist in the format that suits them best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule. All therapists offering these services are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. Online formats can support consistent therapeutic work while offering multiple ways to communicate with a clinician.
