Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hi! My name is Austin and I practice predominantly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I graduated from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I earned my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Austin Peay State University in 2010 and received my license as a professional counselor this past February (2021). Between my Master’s and licensure, I worked full time and pursued a couple of other educational ventures.
I have history working with the Department of Children’s Services, doing pretty extensive case management in the mental health field, working with families and children intensively in their homes, and providing individual and group counseling to people recovering from addiction. I’m a straightforward person and very casual. I see people as individual people just like me who have their own unique stressors and life complications. No two situations are the same, therefore cookie cutter counseling is generally not the most effective approach, in my opinion.
I look forward to helping you navigate the obstacle course of life!

Austin Jarrell practices predominantly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy and brings a practical, down-to-earth approach to counseling. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2005 and completed a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling at Austin Peay State University in 2010. He is licensed in Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider, having received his professional counseling license in February 2021, and he has 13 years of experience in the field.
His professional background includes work with the Department of Children’s Services, extensive case management in the mental health field, and intensive in-home work with families and children. He has also provided individual and group counseling for people recovering from addiction.
Austin’s style is straightforward and casual; he treats each person as an individual with unique stressors and life circumstances. He does not favor one-size-fits-all solutions and prefers to tailor his approach to the specific needs of each client.
He works with concerns such as addictions, family conflicts, parenting issues, self-esteem, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, anger management, depression, and coping with life changes, and he looks forward to helping people navigate the obstacle course of life.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. This makes virtual care a viable option for people seeking support for these issues.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that suits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule and to get consistent support.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and you have the option to switch therapists if you decide a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible and effective way to work on mental health and life challenges while accommodating day-to-day responsibilities.
