Addictions
I have over twenty years experience of working with people who have addiction issues. I have seen the devastation it can have on a person’s life.

Addiction happens when you become overly dependent on something, often when you are trying to escape from other problems.

For many people, there is an underlying issue that has led them to addiction. This could be an experience of trauma or negative changes in your life. Understanding the causes of addiction, and addressing these issues is an important part of your recovery.

I can help you address the causes of your addiction to help you stop your addictive behaviour. Addictions can touch all aspects of your life your health and wellbeing your work your relationships and affect you socially.

Anxiety
Anxiety is common in mental illness or after extreme or distressing experiences. You may feel intense apprehension or worry, accompanied by acute physical signs. Therapy can help you with anxiety, panic attacks and phobias by giving you ways of dealing with situations as they occur and exploring the cause of your feelings.

I am well acquainted with working with people who have anxiety. I understand that anxiety can negatively impact a person’s life. Anxiety is a natural response in people facing uncertain and sometimes threatening situations. The benefit of having an experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate counsellor to help guide you through your anxiety can be immensely helpful and have a direct and positive impact on your quality of life and mental well-being.

Bereavement
It is normal to experience a range of emotions, including anger, sadness, loneliness, guilt, and anxiety during bereavement. But there is no right or wrong way to feel. It affects people in different ways.

I have many years of experience working with clients who have experienced difficulties with bereavement. Grief can shake everything up your beliefs, your routines, and even your sense of normality. Working through grief is accepting what happened, learning to adjust to life without that person and finding a place to keep their memory alive. I have experience in helping clients with coping with grief and loss. Complex family dynamics
My background of working in children’s residential settings developed my awareness of how complex family dynamics can be. This experience has made me a considerate and patient person. My experience of working in close contact with those who have first-hand experiences with family issues has given me a unique understanding of the challenges faced by these individuals. My practical knowledge helps me to navigate problems presented to me by clients. It allows me to help them to deal with their issues in a practical and constructive manner.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A key benefit is flexibility – people can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to connect in the way that feels most comfortable. Therapists who offer online work are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many individuals seeking help with everyday mental health concerns, online therapy provides an accessible and effective option that can support meaningful change.
