Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist experienced in treating all areas of mental health issues but I specialise in working with Post Natal mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts and OCD.
Profile
The reason I decided to make post natal mental health my speciality is because I also suffered with post natal anxiety after the birth of my daughter. I know how it feels to feel lost, scared, alone and angry. I work with women at varying stages post birth some with new born’s and some with toddlers and older children. I also work with men struggling with issues around becoming a parent. I practice a form of CBT rational emotive behavioural therapy (REBT) which I believe really gets to the heart of these issues. Like all CBT therapy it is goal driven and focused on the hear and now but I also work in a way which takes in other training I have done in a number of other therapies and specific work around birth trauma. My approach is to be open, friendly, warm and create a space where you feel free to talk with no judgement and to be truly heard.

Andrea Witt is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in the United Kingdom with 8 years of clinical experience. She works across a broad range of mental health concerns and has a specialist focus on postnatal mental health, including anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts and obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
Andrea chose to specialise in postnatal work after experiencing postnatal anxiety herself following the birth of her daughter. That personal experience informs her understanding of how it can feel to be lost, frightened, isolated or angry after a birth.
She supports women at different stages after childbirth, from those with newborns to parents of toddlers and older children, and she also works with men who are finding the transition to parenthood difficult. Andrea practices a form of CBT called rational emotive behavioural therapy (REBT), which focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours; like other CBT approaches it is goal driven and concentrates on the here and now. She also brings additional training to her work, including specific approaches for birth trauma.
Her therapeutic style is open, friendly and warm, aiming to create a non-judgemental space where people feel able to speak freely and to be truly heard.
Many people ask whether therapy delivered online can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or managing life changes, online therapy is often just as effective as traditional in-person work.
One major advantage is flexibility – people can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to access support around work, family and other commitments.
Therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients can change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. Online formats can make evidence-based approaches more accessible while keeping the focus on practical, goal-oriented work.
