Alicia Rojas is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Michigan; her license number is 6401018283. She brings 12 years of experience as a therapist and a long history of work in the mental health and human services field, including ten years living and working in North Carolina where she served people from many culturally diverse backgrounds.
Her professional background includes work with infants, teen mothers, migrant workers, adults with cognitive impairments and mental illnesses, group homes, daycare programs, and state residential homes. She has training, practical experience, and professional skills addressing self-care, life changes, self-esteem, bariatric and weight-loss concerns, stress, relationship and sexual issues, domestic abuse, grief, and caregiving for aging parents.
Alicia’s counseling approach is relaxed, inviting, and often warm, and she uses appropriate humor when it fits the moment. She draws on person-centered, solution-focused, and holistic therapies - approaches that treat the individual as the expert on their own life and aim to align mind, body, spirit, and emotions while working toward practical solutions.
She understands that reaching out for help can be difficult and acknowledges that taking that first step is important. Alicia looks forward to building a trusting therapeutic relationship as she helps clients pursue a healthier, more satisfying quality of life.
Alicia works full time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Her availability for evening phone and live chat sessions is set for later hours, and she typically responds to messages within 24 hours on weekdays, often sooner. On weekends she can usually reply within a couple of hours. Currently she is not available for video sessions.
Many people ask whether online therapy can actually help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, remote therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care for most people.
One clear advantage of online counseling is flexibility - individuals can connect in the format that best fits their needs and schedule, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to maintain regular sessions and integrate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if someone feels a different fit would be better, it is generally possible to switch therapists. For many people, the combination of evidence-based approaches and convenient access makes online therapy a practical option when seeking support for everyday mental health concerns.
