Alexandra Poolt

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello and welcome to therapy!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of professional work experience. I have certifications in both New York and Florida states, and can treat individuals from either geographical area. That being said, being a social worker has afforded me to work with a variety of people on a wide range of issues. I am also educated with a Master’s Degree at Columbia University and have studied the impact of family and environmental stressors on the brain.

I can work with those who are trying to understand and learn more about why they are experiencing stress, anxiety, or depressive symptoms. The places where we reside, the people whom we interact with whether loved ones at home, or in with workplace, and how we feel about ourselves internally can all play a role in our emotional health. I can attest to witnessing individuals gaining access to hope and moving toward changes in their lives through the therapeutic process once they have gained a sense of control through the use of specific tools or even through having an objective person to process their feelings.

Depending on your needs, we can work to understand your thoughts and the impact on behaviors you wish to address, we can learn about your somatic experience (body/mind connection), and we work together to explore setting achievable goals.

While I have treated those with chronic or severe emotional health-related issues, my work at Better Help best serves those who are coping with recent stressors as I am only available 2 days of the week, Tuesdays and Thursdays for client sessions. I prefer working with clients who will be able to do scheduled text, phone, or video sessions as this is the best way for me to connect during the work week. I am available initially for texting with the idea of setting a schedule for treatment as therapy works best with structured time where we can delve into matters. I will try my best to respond to texts in between the sessions within 24-48 hours as your questions or concerns are important to me.

If you think we may be a good fit, reach out and we can set some time aside to talk. I look forward to meeting you as you explore the therapeutic journey.

About

Alexandra Poolt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (FL LCSW SW21944) with 16 years of professional experience. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University, has certifications in both New York and Florida, and is able to work with individuals from either state. Her training includes study of the impact of family and environmental stressors on the brain.

She works with people seeking to understand and reduce stress, anxiety, or depressive symptoms, and addresses relationship and family concerns as well as coaching needs. Alexandra pays attention to how places of residence, relationships at home or in the workplace, and one’s internal self-view can all influence emotional health. She has observed people regain hope and make meaningful changes when they gain a sense of control through specific tools or by processing feelings with an objective professional.

Depending on a person’s needs, Alexandra will help explore thought patterns and their effects on behavior, attend to the somatic experience – the body-mind connection – and collaborate on setting achievable goals.

While she has experience treating chronic or severe emotional health issues, her work at Better Help is best suited to those coping with recent stressors. Alexandra is available for client sessions two days each week – Tuesdays and Thursdays – and she prefers scheduled text, phone, or video sessions as the primary ways to connect during the work week. She is available initially for texting with the goal of establishing a regular schedule for treatment, and she attempts to respond to texts between sessions within 24-48 hours. If it feels like a good match, prospective clients are invited to reach out to set time aside to talk; she looks forward to supporting people as they explore the therapeutic journey.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the mode of connection that suits them best, whether video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule. Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change providers if they need a different fit. For many people, the convenience and accessibility of remote sessions make it a practical and effective path for addressing everyday mental health concerns.
