Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! You may not know me yet, but I’m looking forward to getting to know you.
I use a change-oriented approach with a bent toward meaning-making and “the big questions” of life.
I don’t think BetterHelp really has the tools to do in-depth therapy work. Therefore, I tend to see my role here as more of a life coach. So for example, on any give day, would you like me to 1) listen and/or 2) give advice/feedback/opinions. It depends on what you’re needing in the moment.
I’d like for you to get some relief and clarity in your life. Whatever your goals, or the life transitions you want to better understand, I can help you, regardless of your culture, your background, your politics, philosophy, or past.
(Note: I am also an ordained clergyperson with a Master of Divinity MDiv degree, and a hospice chaplain.
Faith/religion/spirituality or no, if you want to integrate that into our talks, great. If not, also great. I’m well-versed in many religions and philosophical approaches to existence, including earth-based and “alternative” belief systems, e.g., TST.)

Rev. Alexander Yoo is a California-based clinician who brings 26 years of clinical experience to his work with individuals and couples. He is a California-licensed marriage and family therapist and also holds advanced theological training as an ordained clergyperson with a Master of Divinity; he has served as a hospice chaplain and also holds a Master of Arts degree.
He uses a change-oriented approach with an emphasis on meaning-making and attention to the larger questions of life. On this platform he often frames his role more like a life coach, noting that the format limits the capacity for in-depth therapeutic work, and orienting sessions toward practical support and guidance as needed.
In any given interaction he asks whether the immediate need is to be heard or to receive advice, feedback, or ideas, and he adapts his response to what a person needs in the moment. His aim is to help clients gain relief and clarity around goals, life transitions, and difficult situations regardless of cultural background, politics, philosophy, or history.
Whether or not clients wish to incorporate faith, religion, or spirituality into conversations, he is comfortable either way. He is well versed in a range of religious and philosophical traditions, including earth-based and alternative belief systems such as TST, and is open to integrating those perspectives when clients find them relevant.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That convenience makes it easier to maintain continuity of care and to access support when it is needed.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and if someone decides they would prefer a different therapist, switching providers is an option. For many individuals, online therapy is a practical and effective way to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns while fitting treatment into a busy schedule.
