Dr. Keith Breiman

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

My name is Keith Breiman and I’ve provided individual, family, and couples counseling for over three decades in private practice and in a variety of organizational settings. My earliest training was in Gestalt Therapy which both educated and heightened my cognitive, emotional, and affective sensitivity enabling me to be in the present moment with you.

Since those early days, I’ve had extensive training and experience with other orientations (psychodynamic, cognitive behavior …) and have incorporated how I practice from all of them, as well as from each client, couple, and family. I’ve learned that each therapeutic relationship brings a client(s) with a unique blend of strengths, problematic habits, blind spots, and individually-specific needs that are not being addressed successfully. My experience is that when treatment works, these areas are gradually and sensitively uncovered, and in that process, we will first work together as a team to provide you with a better understanding of your challenges and, then, collectively, create appropriate strategies to address them.

About

Dr. Keith Breiman has provided individual, family, and couples counseling for 42 years, working in private practice and in a variety of organizational settings in New Jersey.

His earliest training was in Gestalt therapy, which deepened his cognitive, emotional, and affective sensitivity and supports his ability to stay present with clients in the moment.

Over the years he has pursued extensive training and experience in additional orientations – including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches – and weaves elements from these methods into his work alongside the unique needs of each person, couple, or family.

He approaches therapy as a collaborative process, recognizing that each therapeutic relationship brings a distinct mix of strengths, problematic habits, blind spots, and unmet needs. When treatment progresses well, those areas are gradually and sensitively uncovered and understood.

Dr. Breiman works with clients as a team to clarify challenges and to design appropriate strategies to address them. He is licensed as a clinical social worker in both New York and New Jersey and maintains his practice in New Jersey.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A key benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist by video call, phone, live chat, or messaging, which makes it easier to fit sessions into a busy schedule or to choose the format that feels most comfortable. Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients may switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. This combination of evidence-based effectiveness and practical convenience makes online therapy a viable option for many people seeking support.
