Jeff Fry

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working in the field for over 30 years. In my career I have worked in many different settings with many different populations. I have come to believe that most of us struggle in life due to our environment not fitting us. We do also have a history and that is relevant and critical to where we are at this point in our lives. How we navigate the world we find ourselves in at the present is critical. To be plain we all need to understand our nature. Each one of us has strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the setting sometimes what is a strength in one area becomes a weakness in another. And of course the reverse is also true. I jokingly tell people that we all need to figure out what is our ice cream flavor. I see no reason to contribute to peoples feelings that they have something wrong with them. Or that they are not normal. We simply are healthy in our lives or we feel unhealthy in our own lives. My goal is to help people figure out what will make them healthy. Most answers are right in front of us and they make sense when someone help us see them.

My style is straight forward, but hopefully not rude or cruel. I strive to help everyone feel hopeful and empowered. I will explain in as much detail as desired about why I think the way I do about any issue. People want to feel progress so I attempt to help them move forward as quickly as possible. There is no magic. If whatever i say doesn’t make sense then challenge me. My goal is to simple help you meet your goal.

My primary intervention style is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I borrow from many other styles when i feel it is appropriate, but I find that CBT is the most logical framework to best help people.

My areas of expertise:
ADHD
Depression
Anxiety
OCD
Relationship Issues
Parenting issues
Grief
Behavioral Problems

Other areas of experience include:
I also work a great deal with LGBTQ issues, Work place issues, PTSD, Military and Veterans Issues. I also work with anger issues, divorce issues, and co-parenting problems. I have seen a lot of things in 30 years. If someone wants to find out if I have worked with their issue and I am comfortable helping them I welcome them contacting me to ask.

About

Jeff Fry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Georgia with three decades of experience helping people navigate life’s difficulties. Over a 30-year career he has worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations, which informs a practical, experienced approach to therapy.

He sees many struggles as the result of an environment that does not fit the individual, while also recognizing that personal history plays a central role in where someone finds themselves today. How a person copes with the present circumstances is an important focus of his work, and he helps clients identify the patterns and choices that influence their wellbeing.

Jeff emphasizes understanding one’s nature – strengths and weaknesses that may serve well in some situations and create challenges in others. He often uses a lighthearted image, asking people to discover their “ice cream flavor,” to underscore that there is nothing inherently wrong with them; rather the aim is to move toward health in everyday life. His goal is to help clients uncover practical, sensible solutions that are often visible once someone helps point them out.

His therapeutic style is direct and straightforward without being harsh, with an emphasis on creating hope and a sense of empowerment. He encourages questions and invites clients to challenge ideas that do not make sense, and he explains his thinking in as much detail as desired. Progress is important to him, so he works to help clients move forward efficiently while acknowledging there is no magic quick fix.

Jeff’s primary clinical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and he integrates techniques from other modalities when appropriate. He works with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, depression, ADHD, addictions, LGBT matters, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, anger management, self esteem, coping with life changes, and behavioral problems. He is also experienced with workplace issues, PTSD, military and veterans issues, divorce and co-parenting challenges. Jeff holds Georgia licensure as a clinical social worker, a credential that qualifies him to provide clinical social work services.

Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the mode of connection that fits their life, whether video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to schedule and maintain regular work on personal goals.

Licensed professionals provide care through these options, and if someone decides they need a different fit, they can switch therapists. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, accessible way to address everyday mental health concerns and move forward with support.
