Barbara George

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah. I have a variety of experience working in hospital emergency rooms, medical floors and inpatient behavioral health units. For 10 years I co-facilitated Grief Support Groups for families who have had a loved one die. I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at University of Phoenix and my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Weber State University. My favored approach with individuals is Client Centered and Solution Focused. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients bring balance back into their life. At the root of my practice I hope to provide clients with a safe, healing and growth oriented space where they can feel welcome and understood. The client will identify the therapeutic goals they would like to work on and together we can work on the barriers that may be standing in their way.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can connect in the way that fits their needs and schedule – through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability can make it easier to maintain continuity of care and fit therapy into a busy life. These services are provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they want a different fit. For many people facing everyday mental health challenges, online therapy offers an accessible, effective path to support and progress.
