Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I received my Social Work Education through Fordham University School of Social Services. During the course of earning my Masters, I worked with families and children in the Foster Care System. I worked briefly as a Medical Social Worker in a Rehabilitation Hospital. There my clients included amputees, Stroke and Head Injury patients. The bulk of my clinical experience spans 25 years and with difficult hard to reach clients with a full line of diagnosis’. I am comfortable working with all client populations. I consider my strongest suit to be empathy. Although I have experience with various clinical modalities, I believe that no size fits all. Together with the client, I will discover the best approach to address the clients needs.

Gerard Riconda received his social work education at Fordham University School of Social Services, where he completed a master’s degree. During his training he worked directly with families and children involved in the foster care system.
He also worked briefly as a medical social worker in a rehabilitation hospital, supporting clients such as amputees and people recovering from stroke and head injuries.
The majority of his clinical work spans 28 years, focused on challenging and hard-to-reach clients across a wide range of diagnoses. He is comfortable working with all client populations and identifies empathy as one of his primary strengths.
Although he has experience with a variety of clinical approaches, he does not assume a single method fits everyone – he collaborates with each person to determine the best way to address their needs. He practices in New York and is a licensed clinical social worker in the state.
Many people ask whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – you can meet with a therapist in the way that works best for you, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and if you decide you want a different fit you can switch therapists at any time.
