Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Florida, obtaining my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University over 30 years ago. My career has focused on conducting psychological research and providing psychotherapy in various settings. I served as Associate Director of the Fear and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the University of Florida, Co-Director of the Addictive Behaviors Research Laboratory at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Associate Director of the Tobacco Research and Intervention Program at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Newly retired from academia, I now provide psychotherapy to a limited number of individual clients.
My clinical practice includes working with clients to address anxiety and stress, depression, motivation, self-esteem, substance-related, and other mental health and lifestyle concerns. My approach is oriented towards short-term cognitive-behavioral therapy, with integration of other empirically-supported techniques, such as Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and supportive counseling. It is important that I tailor my approach to meet your unique and specific needs.
My goal with any new client is to work in an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. This solid alliance forms the optimal basis for positive mental and physical change, improved social relationships, and greater life satisfaction.
Taking the first step to achieve a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. I look forward to working with you!
