Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello and Welcome!
Congratulations on taking action! My name is Tammy Murphy. I am a Licensed Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience! I currently have the pleasure of working with motivated clients ALL OVER California through my teletherapy practice. Since I transitioned to online therapy several years ago, I have been amazed at how effective this new platform can be! I am pleased to conclude that my clients love it too! People enjoy the convenience of having their sessions in the comfort of their own homes (with their beloved pets, a good cup of coffee, and their favorite cozy chair)! Clients also appreciate sessions on the go through the use of their mobile phones! It’s like taking time out in the middle of a busy day to reflect and reset. Dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress can be overwhelming. Therapy provides the support necessary for people to get on with the business of life so they can re-focus on what really matters!
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, county agencies, nonprofits, school districts, and even wilderness/adventure-based therapies. I have loved them all! My therapeutic approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and engaging! I utilize an array of evidence-based practices along with humor! I believe it is the brightest and bravest among us who know when it’s time to reach out. I also believe that most of us have a sense of what we need to do differently to improve our lives. The real question is what gets in the way of doing it? Together we can explore barriers, learn new skills, and take small but necessary steps toward reaching your life goals. After all, the most important investment you will ever make is in YOU!
I look forward to working with you!
Cheers!

Tammy Murphy is a licensed psychotherapist based in California with over 20 years of clinical experience. She practices via teletherapy and works with motivated clients throughout the state.
Having shifted to online work several years ago, Tammy has found the virtual format to be highly effective and well suited to many people’s schedules. She notes that clients often value the convenience of meeting from home – whether that means being with beloved pets, enjoying a cup of coffee in a favorite chair, or checking in from a phone while on the go.
Her career has spanned private practice, county agencies, nonprofit organizations, school districts, and wilderness/adventure-based therapy programs, giving her a wide range of professional experience. Tammy approaches therapy with compassion, a non-judgmental stance, and an engaging manner, combining evidence-based techniques with a touch of humor.
As a California-licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT license number 33418), Tammy believes it takes courage to reach out for support. She also believes many people already sense what changes would improve their lives – the work in therapy is identifying what gets in the way, learning new skills, and taking small, practical steps toward personal goals. Tammy looks forward to supporting clients in making that important investment in themselves.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life transitions – online therapy can be an effective alternative to traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience indicate that for these issues, virtual therapy often matches the outcomes of face-to-face care.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that fits their routines and comfort level – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to keep consistent appointments and integrate therapy into a busy life.
Another practical advantage is accessibility. Working with licensed professionals remotely broadens the pool of available therapists and can reduce barriers related to travel or scheduling. If the therapeutic match does not feel right, clients generally have the option to switch therapists to find a better fit.
Overall, online therapy offers a convenient way to get professional support while maintaining flexibility around day-to-day responsibilities, helping people reflect, reset, and move forward with their goals.
