Elizabeth Griffin

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hi there! I’m glad you’ve taken a step toward self-care by reaching out to us at BetterHelp. I’ve been a licensed mental health counselor in private practice for over 20 years and have provided therapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and marital and family conflict. I am a warm and active listener, and believe that the counseling process should be collaborative. In the therapeutic relationship, we will work together to discover your strengths and weaknesses, the things that drive you, and the solutions to your struggles. I am compassionate , non-judgmental, and ready to help you along your journey. In addition to Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, I use a variety of counseling theories and work hard to tailor the counseling process to fit what each person needs. As a person of Christian faith, I also incorporate a spiritual component in therapy for those who are open and interested in exploring their own spiritual beliefs and growth.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and Master’s degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy and Education from Southwestern Seminary, but I also have plenty of life experience that is sometimes even more important than my degrees! Life is hard and full of trials for all of us, but I have learned that each difficulty we face can bring about deeper maturity and enduring hope for the future. I look forward to being a part of your journey!

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their preferences and schedule, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to maintain continuity of care amid busy lives.

All therapists offering services in this format are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they would like a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical and accessible way to engage in consistent therapeutic work.
