Rev. Gary Greene completed a Master of Marriage and Family Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001 and has delivered community-based counseling since 1986. He became a licensed professional counselor in Georgia in 2005 and is a doctoral candidate in Pastoral Counseling, currently designated ABD (all but dissertation).
He has provided counseling to people of all ages across a range of treatment environments, including community programs and both hospital inpatient and outpatient settings. His training covers work with families and couples, parenting concerns, self-esteem, grief and loss, psychological trauma, depressive mood disorders, ADHD, and anxiety disorders.
Two primary areas of focus are the trauma associated with loss and assisting couples as they navigate relationship crises. Rev. Greene typically draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems models, and a Person-Centered approach, which aligns with his caring orientation toward clients’ wellbeing.
His counseling practice is shaped by his values while remaining respectful of each person’s beliefs and goals. He practices in Georgia as a licensed professional counselor and brings extensive experience working with a variety of presenting issues, including stress, anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, depression, addictions, grief, intimacy concerns, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, life transitions, and compassion fatigue.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person care for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with a therapist in the format that best fits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to incorporate therapy into everyday life.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and, if someone feels a different match would be better, it is possible to switch therapists. Online therapy offers a range of options that can support healing and progress while fitting into the practical demands of daily life.
