Rachel Van Dyk

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Life can be so hard. I know that it takes great courage to ask for help. I consider it one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to walk alongside people in the midst of their struggles through the field of counseling. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. I spent 5 years counseling female and male college students surrounding numerous struggles. I then counseled in a private practice setting for 2 years and saw adolescents through senior adults. I have nearly 3000 clinical face-to-face hours counseling people in need. I have helped clients with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Eating Disorders, Trauma, Spiritual Concerns, Adjustment Disorders, Relationship Conflict, and Family Issues. I typically include a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and/or Emotion Focused Therapy to enter into a client’s story. I assess the depth of pain and impact the client’s history has had on one’s current affect, thought processes, and relationships. I then utilize various tools to help clients continue to move forward in forming healthier behaviors, emotional responses, self-talk, and relationships. My goal is to empower the client to make decisions that lead to a hope filled future.

About

Rachel Van Dyk approaches counseling with a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek help and a commitment to walk alongside people during difficult seasons. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and she brings seven years of clinical experience to her work.

Rachel spent five years providing counseling to both female and male college students across a wide range of concerns, followed by two years in a private practice setting where she worked with clients from adolescence through later adulthood. Across her career she has accumulated nearly 3,000 face-to-face clinical hours.

Her clinical experience includes supporting people with anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, trauma and abuse, spiritual concerns, adjustment disorders, relationship conflict, and family issues. She typically integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-based approaches, and Emotion-Focused Therapy to join a client’s story and address presenting concerns.

Rachel evaluates the depth of emotional pain and how a client’s history influences current emotions, thinking patterns, and relationships. From that assessment she uses a variety of practical tools and interventions to help clients build healthier behaviors, emotional responses, self-talk, and connections with others. Her aim is to empower people to make choices that lead toward a hope-filled future.

She is a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee and practices with the training and standards that credential entails.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care. It can be a practical option for people seeking professional support for everyday mental health needs.

One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that fits their life best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate therapy into busy schedules.

All therapists providing online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they need a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible and effective path to getting support from a trained therapist without the constraints of travel or scheduling barriers.
