Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

We all do the best we can, with what resources are available to us at any given time. A lack of resources or support, can make difficult times all the more challenging. Do you feel alone, overwhelmed, heartbroken, trapped or flawed? Through a supportive therapeutic process, my goal is to help clients discover and build upon their own inner strengths and resources. I know it takes courage to seek services, so I strive to create a nurturing, non-judgmental, honest, and respectful atmosphere. I believe in working together to create individualized solutions to the problems in your life.

I’ve always been passionate about working with grief/loss/bereavement. I specialize in helping clients work through their grief process and find emotional completion; saying goodbye to any unmet hopes, dreams, and expectations that they wish were different, better, or more. My goal is helping clients live their best life possible.

I pull from a variety of approaches in order to best suit my client’s individual needs. I am influenced by client centered, strength-based therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Dialectical (DBT). Over the past two years I have spend most of my time transitioning to more solution focused practices that aim at symptom relief/reduction in dealing with the overwhelming pressures of every day life. Anxiety, depression, high expectations, trying relationships, job pressures, and drug addiction/substance abuse have been areas of focus.

I look forward to providing support with whatever your needs may be.

About

Heather Brooks believes that people do the best they can with the resources available to them, and that limited support can make difficult moments harder to manage. When someone feels alone, overwhelmed, heartbroken, trapped, or flawed, she offers a supportive therapeutic process focused on helping clients identify and strengthen their own inner resources. She recognizes the courage it takes to seek help and works to maintain a nurturing, non-judgmental, honest, and respectful environment while collaborating on individualized solutions to life’s challenges.

Heather has a long-standing passion for grief, loss, and bereavement work. She specializes in guiding clients through the grief process toward emotional completion, assisting them in saying goodbye to unmet hopes, dreams, and expectations they wish had been different. Her aim in this work is to help clients move toward living the best life possible.

Her approach draws from client-centered and strength-based perspectives along with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Over the past two years she has shifted much of her practice toward solution-focused methods that emphasize symptom relief and reduction in response to daily pressures. Areas she frequently addresses include anxiety, depression, high expectations, strained relationships, job pressures, and drug addiction or substance abuse.

Heather is a licensed marriage and family therapist authorized to practice in both California and Arizona and brings 13 years of clinical experience to her work. She is based in Arizona and provides support across a wide range of concerns, including stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, coping with life changes, addictions, family conflicts, intimacy-related issues, parenting difficulties, anger management, career challenges, depression, coaching, and compassion fatigue.

She looks forward to providing support for whatever needs may arise and to working with clients toward meaningful, practical change.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step for One’s Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy genuinely helps. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One of the main benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that fits their needs and schedule best – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy life.

Licensed professionals provide online care, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, accessible way to address everyday pressures and common mental health concerns while working with trained therapists.
