Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Meryl Galvan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I have 10 years of experience treating adults, adolescents, families, and couples with many different mental health issues and conflicts. In addition to general mental health, I have experience in treating trauma, grief, relationships, health psychology, and substance abuse. In addition to my therapeutic work, I have supervised teams of clinicians to insure they provide the highest quality of care to clients in outpatient treatment.
I provide a therapeutic approach that is patient and engaging. I provide compassion while helping my clients find solutions to the challenges in their lives. I am direct and sincere as I allow my clients to gain what they need from therapy including insight, coping skills, and resolutions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients achieve their goals.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology both from the University of West Florida, as well as additional certification in health psychology. I am a Certified Therapist in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well.
I believe that therapy is work and I am willing to put the work in with you. I do much more than listen and talk. I provide lasting coping skills and insight that you will be able to use not just with your struggles now, but with future issues that may come about in your life. Therapy is work that pays off even years down the way! I love seeing people improve their lives and ultimately feel more comfortable with themselves and the world.
I look forward to working with you!

Many people wonder whether remote sessions can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be effective for most people and can provide outcomes comparable to traditional in-person care.
A major benefit is flexibility – individuals can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit regular therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and clients have the option to change therapists if they decide they need a different fit. For many people, the combination of effectiveness and convenience makes online therapy a practical option to support mental health.
