Megan Bartz

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello! My name is Megan Bartz and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over 3 years of experience working with individuals in outpatient and inpatient settings who are struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. I am passionate about treating individuals holistically and believe that the counseling relationship is one of the main vehicles for change as it provides a safe place for individuals to process and progress. I am person-centered and believe in not only being genuine with everyone I work with, but also treating you with unconditional positive regard. Ultimately, one of my main goals in treatment is to help individuals discover what gives them hope as I believe that hope is imperative in order for change to occur. I also draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in order to help individuals discover how their thinking is affecting their emotions and their behaviors and then how to learn to think differently so that they may find a different outcome. Ultimately, I believe you are the expert on yourself and that it can also be helpful at times to have a fresh perspective to walk alongside you as you journey to a place of greater self-awareness. My main priority is listening to what your needs are and helping you find a way to make those a reality. I would love the opportunity to work with you, thank you!

About

Megan Bartz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in New York with eight years of experience supporting people facing mental health and substance use concerns. She has worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings, helping clients navigate issues such as stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship difficulties, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.

Megan practices from a person-centered stance, offering genuine presence and unconditional positive regard as foundational elements of the therapeutic relationship. She believes the counseling relationship itself can be a primary agent of change, providing a steady, nonjudgmental space for clients to process difficult experiences and move toward their goals.

Alongside person-centered methods, Megan draws on cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients identify how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, and to develop alternative ways of thinking that lead to different outcomes. Her work emphasizes listening carefully to each person’s needs and collaborating to turn those priorities into achievable steps.

Megan’s approach is hopeful and pragmatic: she honors that each person is the expert on their own life while offering a fresh perspective to walk alongside them toward greater self-awareness and practical change. She holds a state license as a mental health counselor in New York and focuses on creating treatment plans that reflect each client’s unique strengths and values.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether therapy delivered online can produce meaningful results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, online care has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person treatment for most individuals.

One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect with therapists in the format that fits their life best – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to sustain consistency and attend appointments around work, family, and other commitments.

Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they prefer a different fit. This model can make it simpler to find a clinician whose approach and availability align with personal needs, while keeping the focus on practical strategies and emotional support that help people move forward.
