Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) in the state of Florida. I obtained six years of clinical experience during my training years which included work in a variety of settings including inpatient settings and outpatient treatment in community and university clinics providing individual therapy during the entirety of those years. I then had the honor of completing a year of internship at a VA which included providing individual and group therapy to our veterans and their families. Following graduation, I worked in a state hospital setting and maintained a private practice providing individual therapy for three years. At the same time, I began assessing disability claims for the citizens of Florida impacted by mental health issues, and have done so for the past 28 years. Although I love providing face-to-face therapy, I am excited to be providing online therapy as it increases accessibility to services and retains the important aspects of therapy that result in profound and positive change.
My skills include treatment of depression and anxiety and addressing adjustment issues, healthy aging, self-care, work concerns, behavioral health, sexuality and relationships. My approach is generally from a cognitive behavioral perspective where we will identify the issues and their impact, clarify goals and map a plan. Other perspectives I draw from include psychodynamic (looking at one’s personal history as it relates to current issues), interpersonal (noticing what happens within the therapeutic relationship that applies to outside relationships) and humanistic (acknowledging one’s inherent goodness and own resources to facilitate change). I would be most honored to assist you on your journey!
