Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Just so you can get to know me a bit better: I am a mental health counselor with a PhD in Health Psychology, which focuses on how different layers like biology, psychology, cultural, social, and environments factors influence health and wellness (that’s a mouthful)! I know that having online therapy is a unique experience and different than what it would be if you saw me in my office for one hour a week. I also know each person I talk with has their own ideas and feelings about therapy and what it may be like.
If we were together in my office, I would probably have a cup of coffee, sitting relaxed with you…chatting for a few minutes before we begin. And I would tell you to please call me Deb! So just imagine an incredibly relaxing environment, super comfortable, and me genuinely smiling at you and asking how you are doing, and what has brought you to therapy…
Being a feminist therapist, the way I approach our relationship is collaborative…so we will both share our thoughts and ideas as we decide what to do. My approach to therapy is humanistic; I honor each story as a collection of experiences…continuously evolving. This perspective is not about shortcomings, but one of optimism, focusing on the strength of the human spirit to overcome challenges and seek fulfillment.

Dr. Deborah (Deb) Kutner is a mental health counselor with a PhD in Health Psychology who studies how biological, psychological, cultural, social, and environmental factors shape health and wellness. Her training informs a broad, integrative view of clients’ experiences.
She acknowledges that online therapy feels different than meeting in an office for a weekly hour, and she respects that each person brings unique ideas and feelings about what therapy may be like.
In a face-to-face visit she would likely offer a cup of coffee and invite clients to call her Deb, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere before beginning the session.
As a feminist therapist, Dr. Kutner approaches the therapist-client relationship as a collaboration – both people exchange thoughts and ideas while deciding on a path forward. Her style is humanistic; she treats each life story as a collection of evolving experiences and emphasizes optimism and the human capacity to meet challenges and pursue fulfillment rather than focusing on deficits.
She holds a doctoral degree in Health Psychology and is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, which indicates she meets state requirements to practice therapy. Dr. Kutner has 12 years of experience providing therapeutic care.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, remote therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that works best for them, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy routine.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch providers if they need a different fit. Online therapy can offer a practical, accessible way to address everyday mental health and relational concerns while maintaining professional standards of care.
