William Darsey earned his Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia, completing his studies with advanced standing and a focus on Clinical Mental Health. His internships concentrated on clinical work with grandfamilies - households where grandparents are raising grandchildren - and with homeless families, experiences that reinforced the belief in the inherent worth of each person that began in his childhood. His commitment to advocacy, social justice and reform, and serving underserved or overlooked populations has remained consistent.
Since graduating and entering the field in 2010, William has built broad social work experience in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He has worked extensively with children and teens in foster care, with patients in psychiatric facilities and various medical settings, and in private practice. Those roles have highlighted for him the importance of attending to physical health alongside mental health and the strong links between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
His counseling style is eclectic and tailored to each personâs needs. He primarily draws on cognitive-behavioral therapy, systems theory, strengths-based theory, solution-focused or brief therapy approaches, and psychoeducation. William prioritizes meeting clients where they are and supporting them in moving toward the changes they want to make.
William practices in Georgia and is a Georgia Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a credential that authorizes him to provide clinical social work in the state (GA LCSW, license CSW004954). He is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals and improve the quality of their lives.
Many people wonder whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to in-person care for most individuals.
One major benefit is convenience - people can connect in the way that works best for them, whether that is a video appointment, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit consistent treatment into a busy schedule.
Each participating professional is a licensed professional, and if a different therapeutic match is desired it is possible to change therapists. For many clients, online therapy makes reliable, evidence-based support more accessible while still offering a range of communication options to suit personal preferences.
