Tomi Taylor holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and maintains professional licensure in both Missouri and Maine - Missouri as a Licensed Professional Counselor (MO LPC 2015005795) and Maine as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (ME LCPC CC6855). She is also nationally certified as a counselor, is an Accredited Triple P provider, a Certified AutPlay Therapy provider, and has completed training in EMDR and Theraplay. Tomi is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Autistic Self Advocacy Network.
She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families, bringing experience with families in crisis as well as a wide range of developmental and mental health concerns. Her background includes work with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions, behavioral and mood disorders, adjustment and traumatic stress disorders, and chronic or terminal medical conditions.
Tomi offers a variety of clinical approaches to meet different needs, including sandtray therapy, play therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, family-focused therapy, and teletherapy. She also draws on extensive experience gained over several years of post-graduate clinical work and more than 15 years of service within the autistic community, where she has served as a case manager, resource coordinator, and client advocate for children and parents.
Currently she provides therapeutic and educational services at a clinic in Maine and through online appointments. Understanding the demands of busy work, school, and family schedules, Tomi is committed to offering evening and weekend appointment times to help reduce barriers to accessing care.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online really helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy can be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote care is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that best fits their needs and comfort level - video appointments, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to fit therapy into a busy routine.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many individuals, online therapy offers a practical and effective way to access professional support without sacrificing quality of care.
