Taylor Smith is a husband, father and businessman who has pursued professional training to better manage life challenges and support others. He holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and brings ten years of clinical experience to his work as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (CA LMFT 86598).
Taylor trained in Brief Therapy and studied the work of Milton H. Erickson, incorporating many Ericksonian techniques into his practice, including hypnosis. He also completed multiple practicums and an internship in substance abuse and has worked with hundreds of clients across a broad range of concerns.
Early in his studies he recognized the need for counseling services designed specifically for males, including both adults and adolescents. In his private practice he focuses on practical tools and strategies to help men navigate life changes and challenges.
Taylor works with people facing points of crisis - including relationship difficulties, loss, grief and death - as well as those struggling with lack of direction or motivation, professional dilemmas, substance mismanagement, depression and anxiety, trauma, and PTSD.
He tailors the pace and intensity of work to each client’s goals - working hard when needed and working quickly when appropriate. There are no guarantees in life or therapy, but Taylor offers a committed professional partnership that provides perspective and useful tools, and he aims not to waste clients’ time or money.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility - you can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and you have the option to switch providers if you need a different fit. For many people facing everyday mental health concerns, online sessions offer an accessible and effective path to support.
