Dr. Taryn Stevenson approaches therapy from a strengths-based, positive perspective, helping people discover ways to increase joy and build a meaningful life. She recognizes how everyday stress, depressive symptoms, and past trauma affect individuals and their families, and she works with clients to break unhelpful cycles and restore a sense of purpose and connection.
With 14 years of clinical experience, Dr. Stevenson focuses on supporting individuals and families as they improve relationships and find practical paths forward. She has particular experience assisting veterans and their families - for five years she has addressed the unique challenges of deployment, reunion, and how PTSD can change family dynamics.
Dr. Stevenson is licensed to practice as a mental health counselor in Florida and as a professional clinical counselor in Ohio (license numbers FL LMHC MH9017 and OH LPCC E.1800891). Her work spans a range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma and abuse, grief, eating disorders, self-esteem and relationship issues, parenting and family conflict, anger management, career difficulties, and bipolar disorder.
Her goal is to help each person identify their own path toward the life they envision, while also promoting calm and stability within the family. Dr. Stevenson offers a compassionate, goal-oriented approach designed to bring greater meaning to individual lives and more peace to family relationships.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care for most individuals.
One major benefit is convenience and flexibility - clients can connect in the way that fits their needs, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and continue support during life changes.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients are free to switch providers if they would like a different fit. For many people, virtual therapy offers a practical, effective option for working through everyday mental health challenges and relationship concerns.
