Tarsha Banks is a licensed mental health counselor practicing in Florida who also holds National Certification in Counseling. With 18 years of clinical experience, she has worked with clients ranging in age from 5 to 80 and brings a broad background in therapeutic care.
Her experience includes individual, group, and family counseling, and she has completed a variety of assessments such as crisis evaluations, suicidal risk assessments, substance use assessments, and mini mental status exams. Tarsha has supported people with and without disabilities, worked with individuals both inside and outside correctional settings, and provided guidance to parents of school-aged children.
She has assisted clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship and family conflicts, parenting challenges, addictions, grief and loss, anger management, low self-esteem, career difficulties, and coping with life changes. Her practice also encompasses work with conditions such as schizophrenia, ADHD, ODD, conduct disorder, self-injurious behaviors, and supporting those coping with a loved one who has dementia.
Tarsha often draws on evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, client-centered therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, and she collaborates with each person to determine the approach that fits best. She is committed and motivated in her work and is available to support clients through the often-challenging process of change. When people are ready to begin, she is prepared to help them move forward on that journey.
