Tamara Blau is a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia and a licensed independent social work supervisor in Ohio. She earned a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University in 1996 and brings 10 years of professional therapy experience to her work.
She has worked in public social service settings with adolescents and their families and, more recently, in a school setting supporting middle school-aged youth. Her practice addresses concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavior problems, and the stress of parenting, and she also works with stress, anger management, self-esteem, coping with life changes, addictions, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, and parenting issues.
Known for a nonjudgmental, supportive, and compassionate manner, Tamara uses a client-centered approach to collaborate with clients on both short-term and long-term goals. She focuses on helping people build practical skills and strategies to meet current challenges and to prepare for future ones.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns—such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes—online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote therapy is flexibility. Individuals can choose the mode of communication that feels most comfortable—video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging—making it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if you decide you want a different fit, it is possible to switch therapists. Online services can make consistent, regular care more accessible while supporting a broad range of everyday mental health needs.
