Dr. Sonia Smith is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in New York; she holds a New York state license to practice clinical social work (NY LCSW 042694). She also holds a certification as a Family Life Educator (NAD), has training in Complicated Grief Treatment Therapy through the Center for Complicated Grief, serves as an Empowerment Facilitator with 4 Real Women International Organization, Inc. (4RWI), and works as a Relationship Life Coach.
With 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Smith has supported individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of life challenges. Her practice has included work focused on prevention of child abuse and neglect, grief and bereavement, domestic violence, adolescent gang involvement, community violence, and trauma.
She specializes in family therapy, psychotherapy, and mental health counseling designed to help couples, individuals, and families restore balance in their relationships and improve overall wellbeing. Dr. Smith is also an active advocate against social injustices that affect families and individuals, with particular commitment to the needs of women and children.
