Simon Camarillo meets each person where they are and builds sessions around the goals the client brings to therapy. He primarily applies cognitive-based approaches to help shift unhelpful thinking patterns and uses behavioral techniques to support changes in habits. He encourages clients to draw on their existing strengths, hobbies, relationships, and healthy belief systems as resources for change.
Simon views people from a body-mind-soul perspective and aims to help clients address gaps and grow across those domains of personhood. That growth might include strengthening spiritual beliefs, developing healthier coping skills, or overcoming obstacles both large and small.
He earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Education from West Texas A&M University and is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Texas. Simon has worked in a range of mental health settings - from juvenile detention centers to domestic violence shelters and mental health hospitals - and has provided individual and couples counseling as well as facilitated group therapy for people with varied needs. He helps people break free from addiction, heal from trauma, overcome depression, and confront daily anxieties, with a focus on changing habits and thought patterns that keep them from living to their full potential.
