Samuel Parker brings 45 years of experience to helping people navigate personal and family crises. He moved between leadership roles managing human service non-profits and hands-on clinical work, and has offered family, group, and individual counseling across a variety of clinical settings since completing his graduate training.
He earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, a credential that reflects advanced clinical training and state licensure (license C000461). Over his career he has used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, crisis intervention techniques, trauma-focused treatment, and other appropriate interventions when supporting people with depression, anxiety, trauma, and related family or individual crises.
Samuel has substantial experience working with people who have experienced child abuse, domestic violence, and other forms of trauma, and he recognizes how these issues often coexist with grief, loss, and significant relationship problems. His practice goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic space where clients can begin their journey of healing and growth.
