Sabrina Hanson, who prefers to go by Veronica, welcomes people who have already taken the difficult first step toward change. She frames counseling as a journey of self-discovery, renewed freedom, and steady personal growth, where hope increases as clients reconnect with their core selves and pursue a life of greater purpose and passion.
Veronica emphasizes the therapeutic alliance as central to the healing process. Her goal is to equip clients with practical tools and skills so they can continue their growth independently; she describes her role as guiding and empowering people until they no longer need a therapist to navigate those paths.
She maintains a broad, eclectic approach while relying primarily on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help clients access their core self and work compassionately with internal parts. IFS is an evidence-based method Veronica uses to support people through emotions and patterns that interfere with authentic living. She also has focused training in trauma and addiction-related methods, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), the Instinctual Trauma Response Model, nutrition and mental health, telehealth practices, and addiction counseling.
Veronica completed a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Florida State University in 2002 and earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio in 2016. She holds professional licenses in both Texas and Ohio: a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - license number 81692 - and an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) - license number E.1801006. She is also credentialed as a chemical dependency counselor in both states and is specialized in addiction and trauma work. Veronica has three years of clinical experience and is currently based in Ohio.
Her work aims to address the whole person - mind, body, and soul - and she pursues ongoing training and personal therapy to better understand the modalities she offers. Feedback from clients is welcomed and used to tailor treatment; Veronica encourages open communication so therapy can be adjusted to fit each person’s needs. She invites those ready to begin this work to take a breath and consider the next step toward greater healing and wholeness.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, research and practice indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person work for most people.
A major benefit is flexibility - individuals can meet with therapists in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into busy or changing lives.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and individuals may choose a different clinician at any time if they feel another fit would be better. This adaptability, together with accessible session formats, helps many people begin and sustain therapeutic work more consistently.
